As per the illustration in “Dogs in English Porcelain of the 19th Century” (pg.66, fig.92), this whimsical and attractive little charmer was probably made between 1830 and 1850 by the Dudson company. The reddish basket in its mouth holds some greenery. The three-dimensional fur was created by using shards of pottery.
The condition is excellent, with no faults to remark upon.
It measures about 1-¾ inches wide, 2-¼ inches high and 1 inch deep.
