In this whimsical and charming town home, the function of a pastille burner is carried out through the large, slotted open windows and the two orange chimneys that allowed for the incense to come through. This piece shows how function and form united to produce a wonderful piece of Victorian art. I especially enjoy the dog sitting at the base of the house watching a cat at the top of the stairs before an arched door. The arched doors add a colorful touch in this pretty pastille burner. Several flowers, two clock faces and two gold-tipped balls on the peaks of the double roof add more romantic interest. The pair of sheep flanking the wide stairway complete the picture and make this pastille burner irresistible.

This piece is in excellent condition. There is a minute loss of paint on the edge or the arched doorway in the rear. There are several kiln effects on the edges of two of the open windows.

It measures about 6 inches wide, 6-5/8 inches high and 3-½ inches deep.
