Vogue Dolls introduced their 8" Ginnette Baby Doll as Ginny's baby sister in 1955. The initial Ginnette had painted eyes but by 1956 some were given these pretty open and close "sleep" eyes. All true Ginnette Dolls have the Vogue Dolls mark on their midback like this baby Ginnette.
Ginnette has a light blush to her cheeks and her lips are a pretty red. Her eyes are a sparkling, clear, and open and close on their own. She has all of her fingers and toes. Her sculpted brown hair is still in Very Good Condition with a few small scattered rubs noted on and around the top of her head.
Ginnette comes with her 1957 (#7626) Red & White Snowsuit. This Vogue outfit is in great condition. The red polished cotton overalls (snow pants) carry the Vogue tag. The white "wool" / felt jacket and matching bonnet carry a red and green trim--the perfect outfit for Ginnette's Christmas! The jacket snaps shut in the front and both snaps are secure. Ginnette also comes with a vintage wooden hand crafted sled that is not original to her but she loves it! She also has a Mommy made necklace of wooden beads that spells "Baby". Like most babies, Ginnette can only wear it or play with it under close supervision. Her wooden beaded necklace coordinates nicely with the red and green trim of her snowsuit and also with her red and white romper.
Ginnette's red and white Romper (#2302)is not only cute and sweet but comfortable to play in inside the house all year long. The bodice of this sweet romper is almost heart shaped and is trimmed in lace. With the red and white design, her Mommy thinks it will be perfect for Christmas or Valentine's Day. The outfit is in Excellent Condition though the Vogue tag is missing for this outfit. It is unquestionably Vogue and shown on page 196 of the Vogue Dolls Encyclopedia (First Edition) by Izen and Stover.
Ginnette has a newer pair of white nylon socks that fit nicely into her white personalized Mary Jane style shoes. Her shoes and socks coordinate with her snowsuit and her romper too.
Every year Vogue presented at least one new "Sacque" Topper and Diaper "Cover" for Ginnette. This one carries the Vogue Dolls tag and is a version from 1959 (#2401). It is made from soft pink and blue flannel and trimmed with pink ribbon and is still in Very Good Condition. Like pj's, Ginnette loves to sleep in her diaper and topper.
