Vintage Very Rare Takahashi Style Quail Family 4 Birds Set Brooch Pin Wood Hand Carved Painted

These Adorable & Vibrant Vintage Takahashi Style Family of (4) quail are extremely rare. There are (2) adults and (2) babies in this family of (4) quail. A group of quail such as these are called flock, covey or bevy. The babies are called “chicks”.

These adorable birds are quite vibrant and feature (8) different beautiful enamel colors: green, red, tan, white, yellow, black and 2-shades of orange, which is lavishly applied and in perfect condition with no missing enamel. The enamel is preserved with a clear coat finish. All of the plumes (top-knot) are black and white and are in excellent condition, with the exception of one plume that shows a tiny crack in the paint, which does not affect the integrity of the pin.

The quail’s legs are created with double twisted copper wire, which are curled around a wood branch.
All of these birds are hand crafted and hand painted. Please check the photographs to view the very fine brush strokes.

This wonderful family of quail shows exceptional dimension and depth. All of the pin clasps are in perfect working condition.
Measurements: The adults measure 1 3/4” x 1”. The chicks measure 1 3/8” x 5/8”.

Age: 1960's.

Excellent Condition with the exception of a tiny crack to the plume of one of the adults.
