Here's a beautiful porcelain snack set from the Fancy Free pattern signed Georges Briard. Briard was the pseudonym used by Russian born artist, Jascha Brojdo, for his commercial art pieces. His products were quite popular in the 1950s and 1960s. This particular pattern of hot air balloons was produced in 1965 and has long been discontinued. Each snack set has a different design.
This snack set features a lady in blue standing in a hot air balloon with a navy, blue and green checkerboard design. The snack plate measures 9.25" in diameter. The matching cup in 2.5" tall and 3.25" wide at the rim. The pieces are in excellent condition, appearing to have been used little if at all. The cup does have one small errant vertical line of gold paint on one side. No chips or cracks.
