Minton Hand Painted Girl Portrait Raised Gold & Platinum Pompadour Pink Cup & Saucer
Beautiful late 19th century antique bone china coffee cup and saucer. The cup has a hand painted portrait of a blue eyed blonde little girl framed by raised gold gilding over a pompadour pink background. With gold gilt and platinum designs and beading. Saucer has a raised gold floral medallion in the center of the saucer. Marked on the bottom A. B. Daniell & Sons Mintons 46 Wigmore St London. This Minton mark was used between 1873 and 1902. Some sources online only show A. B. Daniell at this address between 1907 and 1911; however, there is an image online for the Centennial Exhibition of 1876 in Philadelphia that shows a display for A. B. Daniell & Son with the address as 46 Wigmore ST, London. Has the pattern number G2127 in red.
Has some minor wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition.
The cup measures approximately 3 1/8 inches wide including the handle x 2 1/4 inches tall.
The saucer measures approximately 4 7/8 inches wide.
