Ridgways Birmah Pattern Hand Colored Transferware Covered Vegetable Dish C.1880s
Antique British earthenware covered vegetable dish. Transfer decorated in the Birmah pattern in brown and iron red with hand colored highlights in pink, orange, blue, and green. With gold highlights to the finial and handles. Marked on the bottom Ridgways. The bow and quiver mark without any place name was used around 1880-1885. Also marked with the pattern number and number.
Has crazing typical of earthenware, staining, some weat to the gilding, a repaired chip to the edge of the lid, and the finial has been broken at one time and glued with some associated small losses.
Measures approximately 9 5/8 inches wide from handle to handle x 5 1/2 inches tall to the top of the lid finial.
