A pair of 19th century oyster plates made by the Union Porcelain Works of Greenpoint, New York. Hand-painted with pale yellow ground and gilt accents. Nicely shaped and molded with four shallow wells for oysters and a scallop shell for sauce, surrounded by tiny seashells, mussels and seaweed in relief. Mark on the underside: eagle head with U.P.W. PAT. JAN. 4 1881. In good condition. No chips. One oyster has a craquelure. Circa 1881-1889. 1.25"H x 8.5"W x 6.25"D
