This is a fabulous mug! This rare hand decorated mug was produced by Wedgwood during the last quarter of the 19th century. This 1870s creamware mug features a transfer printed design hand decorated depicting a butterfly, humming bird and a pretty flower! The mug also features a lovely orange and red ribbed border and handle. The base of the mug features the impressed ‘Wedgwood’ mark along with a letter date code and a black hand painted painters/pattern number mark.
This is a beautiful piece of Wedgwood and is one of our favourite items.

Measuring: Width including handle 5 1/8 inch (13 cm) by height 4 inch (10.5 cm).
Condition: Heavy staining to the interior, looks like it was used to store brushes by an artist maybe. Some pooling of the glaze beneath rim from manufacturing. A few light grazes to edges of handle.
