This charming hooked rug or mat has a playful image of two children in yellow and brown snow suits building a snowman. The background is off-white and blue. One child is posing a red shovel in the snowman’s hand, while the other is placing an olive green stick in his other hand. The graphics are bright and colorful like Grenfell’s are, and the children's faces have not been filled in with facial features. This is also a Grenfell “trade mark.” However the work, the actual stitches, the hooking is not done as finely as Grenfells were done. I suspect this to have been made in Quebec, possibly Ontario. Where ever it was made it is a sweet and charming scene. It is a perfect size to frame and use during the holidays. You could also think about using it as the front of a down pillow for your sofa.
