A fun, very organically-shaped serving dish from the 1950’s with an abstract tribal theme.
The almost boomerang shaped ceramic dish is painted with brown, avocado and orange on a beige ground with gray splatters. The base is flat and glazed. There is a taupe cartouche on the base with the name Bellaire.
9 3/8” (23.8 cm) tall x 8 ¾” (22.2 cm) wide x 1 ¼”(3.2 cm) deep. Weighs 1 lb 1.8 oz (505g)
There are no chips, cracks, repairs, or breaks. The glazes are fresh and like new. There is light wear to the base, where the dish has been repeatedly moved on surfaces.
A very “atomic age” serving dish from the 1950’s by Marc Bellaire. A great piece to add to a collection or use to decorate your mid-century décor.
